I have worked as a tax manager and specialist in international, national and provincial practices of Chartered Accountants over a long career in the accountancy profession covering thirty years.
In order to provide a more personal service and a focused approach to small companies, businesses and personal tax clients, I commenced my own practice ten years ago.
I have gained extensive experience in dealing with and negotiating with H.M. Revenue & Customs over the last thirty five years.
In my opinion communication and dealings with the tax authorities have become more and more difficult for the average taxpayer to carry out on their own due to the reduction in the numbers and experience of H.M. Revenue & Customs personnel.
There can be opportunities to save more tax and have a more tax efficient structure in most businesses and especially at the outset of a new business when forward planning strategy can prevent losing out on available tax reliefs.
Over the last ten years I have helped many personal and business clients to obtain substantial tax rebates in respect of earlier years where they had either ignored or tried to deal with their own tax affairs in an attempt to save accountant’s fees.
I have found that in most cases the tax savings and business efficiencies resulting from my services and advice have at the least matched my fee costs and in addition have released client’s time to do what they do best and taken away the burden of the administration of their accountancy and taxation affairs.
